Located at Washington Harbor, on the northern coast of Washington Island, Schoolhouse Beach receives its name from the early islanders whose children attended the school by the water.  The deepest of the harbors, it was an early site for the flagships the brought visitors to this Wisconsin paradise.
This beach has the unique distinction of being one of only five beaches in the world with all white limestone rock.  Created by nature and now preserved by law, these rare smooth stones are a delight to feel and view on the beach and in the crystal clear water.
